BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Georgia Southern on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at Shauna Yelton Field.
With the win, Samford improved its record to 3-5-1 on the season. Georgia Southern's record fell to 3-5-1 as well.
"We've had to kind of adjust a little bit from what we have done in the past," Samford head coach
Todd Yelton said. "I don't know that we've shown enough grit all year and I think today we showed a ton of grit. The best thing to do on Senior Day is to win. I'm so thankful that I've gotten to spend time with these kids. We've got a little more time together as we start conference, but at the end of the day, this is just soccer and hopefully we're putting something on their life that will last forever in a really positive manner."
