SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford women's basketball team dropped a 70-62 decision at Wofford Thursday evening at Richardson Indoor Stadium.
 
Samford falls to 11-8 overall and 8-2 in Southern Conference play with the loss. Wofford improves to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in league play.

• Annie Ramil scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Samford.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Samford took a 6-5 lead with 5:30 left in the first quarter after a layup by Cournoyer.
• Wofford then went on a 9-2 run to take a 14-8 lead with 1:04 left in the period following a layup by Niyah Lutz.
• Wofford held a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.
• The Terriers pushed their lead out to eight points at 20-12 early in the second quarter.
• Samford cut the lead to 20-16 with 6:16 left in the second quarter after a layup by Armstrong.
• With Samford trailing, 24-16, the Bulldogs went on a 13-0 run to take a 29-24 lead with 1:08 left in the second quarter after a jumper by Cournoyer.
• Samford took a 31-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.
• Samford pushed its lead out to eight points at 35-27 with 8:32 left in the third quarter after a basket by Cournoyer.
• Wofford cut the lead to one point at 35-34 with 6:20 left in the third quarter after a three-pointer by Carman.
• Samford pushed the lead back out to five at 41-36 with 5:32 left in the third quarter after a three-pointer by Ramil.
• Wofford took the lead at 49-48 with 21 seconds left in the third quarter after a pair of free throws by Alexis Tomlin.
• The Terriers held a 49-48 lead at the end of the third quarter.
• Wofford pushed its lead out to 10 points at 60-50 with 3:47 left in the fourth quarter after a jumper by Lily Hatton.
• Samford could get no closer than six points the rest of the way as Wofford came away with the 70-62 win.
