2007 OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE ALL-NEWCOMER TEAM "Hillary has become an excellent senior leader and is looking to go out on top in her final year." - Head Coach Derek Schroeder Junior (2009): Resumed her role as the starting setter for the Bulldog squad...started all 31 games for Samford and played in all but one set...led her team with 940 (8.25 aps) assists and ranked second in digs with 247 (2.17 dps)...also tallied 48 blocks and 115 kills throughout the season...named the Samford Invitational Most Valuable Player after posted 78 assists over the weekend, including a tournament-high 38 against USM, while also tallying 14 kills, 14 digs and three block assist throughout the tournament...matched a career-high seven kills twice, first against SEMO (Sept. 5) then at Wofford (Oct. 24)...also notched a career-high 20 attempts at Wofford...posted a career-high .667 (4-0-6) hitting percentage against the College of Charleston (Oct. 18) and notched a season-hih 51 assists versus The Citadel (Oct. 17) the day before...also posted a career-high 22 digs against SEMO (Sept. 5).
Sophomore (2008): Named First Team All-SoCon last season after leading the league in assists by more than 101 and just over one assist per game...ranked throughout the season in the NCAA in assists and aces...was second in the nation in assists (12.09) on Oct. 14 and ended the season seventh (11.63)...the highest she ranked in aces was 11th (0.54) on Oct. 21 while finishing the season 18th in nation with 0.47 aces per set...now ranked fourth on the all-time assists list with 2,426 assists and second on the single-season assists list with 1,327 assists in 2008...named Southern Conference Player of the Week twice during the season...named Most Valuable Player at the UMKC Kangaroo Klassic after posting 11.58 assists per game and hitting .471 with eight kills while also grabbing 10 blocks and seven aces...notched a career-high seven kills against Appalachian State (Oct. 4) and 15 attempts versus UNC Greensboro (Oct. 26)...also posted a career-high of six aces at Western Carolina on Nov. 8...posted two double-doubles on the year versus Murray State and Appalachian State...the only other player besides Ashley Adams to post a double-double on the year. Freshman (2007): Named to the 2007 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team . . . earned a spot on the Samford Bulldog Classic All-Tournament team with her weekend performance of 11.15 assists per game and 2.46 digs per game . . . hit a personal-high .625 against South Alabama in the DePaul Tournament (Sept. 8) . . . posted a personal-high 71 assists in Samford's five-game win over Austin Peay (Oct. 16) . . . posted eight double-doubles this season . . . had a stellar performance in a win at Tennessee-Martin (Sept. 15) as she posted 61 assists and a personal-high 13 digs for the third time in the 2007 season . . . ranks third on the single-season assists list with 1,256 during the 2007 campaign and that number puts her at seventh on the all-time list . . . led the Bulldogs in assists with 12.19 apg . . . earned her first varsity letter. Club: Played for the Toledo Volleyball Club since she was eight. High School: Attended Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio . . . all-league honorable mention in 2003, while being named to the District 7 second team in the same year . . . named to the all-league second team in 2004 . . . earned a spot on the District 7 first team in 2004, 2005 and 2006 . . . selected as Springfield High School's best offensive player in 2005 and 2006 . . . earned a spot on the all-league first team in 2005 and 2006 . . . also named the team's most valuable player . . . played for the Toledo Volleyball Club since she was eight . . . also played basketball for Springfield HS . . . earned all-district honors and lettered in both volleyball and basketball while being named the athlete of the week for both sports at least once . . . was a part of the Ohio Valley Region High Performance Team in 2003 and 2004 as well as the Ohio High School Elite Camp and the USA High Performance Camp in 2004.
