Samford Men's Tennis Recruiting Class Ranked 16th Among Mid-Majors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's tennis program's 2008 recruiting class has been ranked 16th among mid-major programs by www.TennisRecruiting.net.

The website ranked the top 25 recruiting classes from mid-major schools. Rice University was ranked number one on the list. The University of California-Irvine is second, while California Polytechnic State University, Emory University and the United States Naval Academy round out the top five.

Samford signed two players in its 2008 class, Michael Browder from The Heritage School in Newnan, Ga., and Carson Kadi from New Orleans, La., who finished out his senior year at Coppell High School in Dallas, Tex.

Browder is currently ranked sixth in the state of Georgia by TennisRecruiting.net. He is ranked 153rd in the nation and 46th in the southeast. He posted a record of 19-11 this year.

Kadi ranks second in the state of Louisiana, and he is ranked 100th nationally and 13th among the Gulf states. Kadi has posted a 48-12 overall record.
