BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's and women's tennis teams are still undefeated in conference play after a double sweep of the Tennessee State Tigers Tuesday. The Samford men improve to 5-4 (2-0 OVC) and the women are 4-1 (3-0 OVC).

The Bulldog women won three matches, all in two sets of 6-0, and would go on to win the decision due to Tennessee State only having three players. Anna Jackson moves to 3-2 at the No. 1 spot, while Katie McMiller is 4-1 at the No. 2 spot. Red-shirt freshman Whitney Flesher made her collegiate debut with the win at the third court.

Samford's men played a full slate of matches, sweeping the doubles point and doing the same in singles. Three Bulldog men also won in two sets of 6-0, and no Samford player had to play a third set.

Bulldog duo Renan Silveira and Sam Huffman won their sixth match at the No. 1 spot, while Stuart Misner and Hank Grant grabbed their third win of the season. All three doubles teams shut out their opponents.

The Samford men were scheduled to play Alabama A&M immediately following the match with Tennessee State. However, the match was cancelled prior to the start of play with Tennessee State.

The Samford women continue their seven match home stint as they take on in-state foe Troy University. The Bulldogs will match-up with the Trojans Thursday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion. They will then join the Samford men in playing host to the Racers of Murray State on Saturday, March 10. The women will start at 10 a.m., and the men will follow directly after, around 1:30 p.m.
