Football Practices In Full Pads Friday

Aug. 22, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team held its final full-pad practice before its season-opener Friday morning at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs practiced for about two hours.

Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said he liked how physical the practice was Friday morning.

"We had a really good, physical practice today," Sullivan said. "We're basically winding up our physical work."

Sullivan said the Bulldogs are continuing to work on the game plan for next Thursday's season-opener.

"We just have to put some spit and polish on the game plan now," Sullivan said. "I think it is evident now who we are going to play. Our kickers are back healthy now. I feel good about where we are, it's just time to play somebody now."

The Bulldogs will practice again Saturday in shells. The practice is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Samford opens the 2008 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 28, when the Bulldogs play host to West Georgia. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff from Seibert Stadium.
