Tommy Rohling

Tommy Rohling returned to his alma mater in 1998 as the head strength and conditioning coach. He is now in the midst of his 10th season in that capacity. Rohling's duties include direction of the physical conditioning program for 16 the University's varsity programs. His first work at Samford was as a graduate assistant coach from 1990 to 1992, assisting with the football defensive line as well as the strength and conditioning program. Rohling was a three-year letterman for the Bulldogs under coaches Kim Alsop and Terry Bowden, playing fullback in 1985-86 and noseguard in 1987. He continued his education at Samford after his eligibility expired, earning his bachelor's of science degree in 1990, when he moved immediately onto the Samford staff. A native of Trussville, Ala., Rohling earned four letters at Hewitt-Trussville High School from 1979 to 1982. Rohling holds a professional membership in the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Rohling is an avid collector of Green Bay Packers' memorabilia. He is married to the former Christine Conner Fullman, a Samford cheerleader from 1989 to 1991 and a 1992 graduate of the University. They have two sons, Christian Conner (8) and Colton Cameron (3). |
