Rucker Taylor enters his second season as a member of the Samford baseball coaching staff, serving as the outfield coach, and assisting with the infielders and hitting.

Taylor spent the 2007 baseball season serving in an administrative role with the Samford baseball program and is closing in on an MBA from Samford University.

"We are very excited to have Rucker joining our coaching staff," Head Coach Casey Dunn said. "He has played at the highest levels of college baseball and recently participated in a Super Regional. He brings that experience as well to our staff."

Taylor is a 2006 graduate of Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt he saw significant starting time at both second base and shortstop, and was a member of the first Vanderbilt team to reach a Super Regional in 2004 against the University of Texas, and he played on three NCAA Regional teams.

Taylor had a stellar high school career at Bayside Academy where he played for current Samford Associate Head Coach Tony David.
