NCAA Regional Women's 6k Results

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. ---- Lauren D'Alessio represented the Samford Bulldogs at the NCAA South Regional meet Saturday on the campus of the University of Alabama. The junior finished 14th overall in a field of nearly 200 in the 6k with a time of 20:56.8.

The Pelham, Ala., native was one of only 16 competitors to finish in under 21 minutes. She has led the team all season, including a second-place finish at the SoCon Championships two weeks ago.

D'Alessio's high finish will give her an opportunity at a bid to the NCAA Championships, which will take place on Monday, Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind. Championship fields will be announced by the end of this weekend.
