Cheerleaders Visit Exceptional Foundation
Nov. 1, 2011
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford cheerleading squad visited the Exceptional Foundation in Homewood on Oct. 25. "The cheerleaders went to the Exceptional Foundation and spent the afternoon teaching cheers to a group of young girls," cheerleader Bethany Patton said. "Getting to see the looks on the girls' faces when we walked in was an amazing experience. We love helping out special needs children and can't wait for the next opportunity." Cheerleaders Heather Hall, Elizabeth Akin, Ally Reese, Bethany Patton and Emily Kelley all visited the foundation as part of its basic skills camp for special needs children. The cheerleaders worked with the girls at the camp to team cheers and motions.
"It was great seeing our team working with the kids at the Exceptional Foundation," cheerleader Heather Hall said. "It's so enjoyable to share my love for cheerleading and to see how much they love cheerleading, too. To see their faces light up when we teach them a few of the Samford cheers is an amazing experience."
