Baseball Assists With Aga Khan Foundation Walk

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Members of the Samford baseball team helped out at the annual AGA KHAN Foundation U.S.A. Partnership In Action Walk Sunday afternoon at Railroad Park in Birmingham.

Through PartnershipsInAction, AGA KHAN Foundation U.S.A. is raising awareness about development issues abroad and getting people involved locally in the United States to be part of the solution to end global poverty. The Foundation addresses the root causes of poverty with model programs so that all people have the opportunity to raise healthy families, go to school, earn decent wages and live and work in environments free of disease. Using grassroots community-based approaches, AGA KHAN Foundation has programs to train people to build local institutions that focus on self-reliance and improve the quality of life in their communities.

One of the strengths of the Foundation and PartnershipsInAction is that they are part of the AGA KHAN Development Network (AKDN), the largest network of its kind focused on alleviating poverty and improving opportunities for the poorest among us, particularly in Africa and Asia.
