Samford University currently sponsors 17 sports. It is the responsibility of the Sports Information Office to disseminate information on all 17 of those sports, the coaching staff and the student-athletes as well as all members of the Samford Athletics Department.
The Sports Information Office is located on the first floor of the Pete Hanna Center on Samford's campus.
MEDIA GUIDES
Media Guides are a production of the Samford Sports Information Office as a service to opposing teams and the media. The general public may purchase media guides from the Sports Information Office by contacting them at 205-726-2799. Football, men's and women's basketball and baseball media guides are $10 each, while all others are $5. You can send checks, including a request for the particular media guide, to Samford Sports Information, 800 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham, AL 35229.
THE INTERNET
Information on all 17 of Samford's sports teams is available 24 hours a day on the official website of Samford Athletics, www.samfordsports.com. Updated statistics, full game recaps and box scores will be posted following each athletic event.
GAME SERVICES
Programs, media guides, lineups, statistics, SoCon standings and notes and game background information will be supplied at all home games to accredited media representatives at Press Row (basketball), or in the Press Box (football, soccer, softball and baseball). Access to the Press Box or Press Row at Seibert Stadium, the Pete Hanna Center, Joe Lee Griffin Field, Bulldog Soccer Field and Bulldog Softball Field is reserved for properly-credentialed individuals only.
At football and basketball games, NCAA box scores are distributed at halftime with a complete NCAA Final Box Score and Play-by-Play available after the game in the Press Room or Press Boxes. Refreshments will also be served in the Press Box for the media prior to each football game and in the press room prior to each basketball game.
Wireless internet is available at football, men's and women's basketball and baseball games. Telephones are available after all games, either in the Press Box or Press Room at all events on a first-come, first-served basis. Fax service is also available following the game, by request.
INTERVIEWS
The best way to reach all of the Samford coaches is through the Sports Information Office. Please feel free to contact us for assistance in arranging interviews with the coaches.
Please arrange all player interviews through the Sports Information Office, allowing a day in advance, if possible. We will try to accomodate every request, taking the players' classroom and practice schedules into account.
Samford coaches and players will be available for post-game interviews following a brief cooling off period. For football, men's and women's basketball and baseball, the head coach is appear on a post-game radio show prior to any other interviews.
Samford Sports Information Event Guidelines
WORKING CREDENTIALS
Working press and photography credential applications for all home and road football and basketball games must be made prior to game day with the Samford Sports Information Office. The mailing address is: Samford Sports Information, 800 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham, AL 35229. You can fax your request to the Sports Information Office at (205) 726-2545 with your request on company letterhead, including name(s) for the passes, affiliation, and type and date of the event.
Passes not mailed in advance will be held for pick-up at the "Will Call" window at Seibert Stadium (football) and Pete Hanna Center (basketball).
Press Row for basketball is located on the main floor of the arena, on the opposite side of the benches in the Pete Hanna Center. Seating is limited to working media, professional scouts and accredited school officials. Requests from television stations for highlight cameras will be granted space in football and basketball games on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the case of televised games, all efforts will be made to give the production crew access to prime locations for the broadcast.
