Bulldog Field

softball Bulldog Field has been the home of Samford soccer since the program's inception in the fall of 1997. The Bulldogs own a remarkable 38-20-7 home record during their first seven seasons at the facility. In 2002, a scoreboard and a flagpole became the first major additions to the field. In the summer of 2004, permanent bleachers were added, expanding the seating capacity to 972 fans. Discussions are currently underway to upgrade the press area and add Olympic-style dugouts.

Bulldog Field is Samford's only athletics facility that is not located on its main campus. The field can be found across Lakeshore Drive between Homewood High School and the Homewood Armory. The field is surrounded by trees, which puts the fans very close to the field and gives the Bulldogs a true home-field advantage. The field hosted the 2003 Ohio Valley Conference Championships and became a part of history when a school-record, above-capacity crowd of 1,054 watched Samford square off against nationally-ranked Auburn on Sept. 2.
